The event system mock is defined in the common_test.go file. Not really an
expected location for the event system mock. The event system mock should be
defined in the events package or a sub package of it.
The common file also includes a function to get a node iterator for a number of
tests. Other function with similar functionality are all stored in the
utility_test file.
