Agree with @corneadoug that the interpreter prefix should always be shown
in the paragraph (being default or not). Descriptive and consistent approaches
reduce complexity and avoids misunderstandings.
The pre-filling of the default prefix as suggested by @Leemoonsoo is a nice
usability improvement indeed!
I would like to suggest another angle. Instead of hard-configuring the
'default' prefix would it be better to just copy the prefix from the previous
paragraph? Similar approach is used by some text editors. IMO it is more
flexible and covers many use cases. The hard-configured prefix still can be
used for initial paragraphs or some other undefined cases?
