Hi all, in my opinion, putting the assemble behind a load balancer is unnecessary. We use customized connection strategy to fullfilll the different, like pick up a local regional ip when start a connection. see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-781. And I also think the stand alone load balancer may be a potential risk source for the whole system. Embed the connection strategy to the client application is more graceful, I think.
Another idea in my mind is that, these days I'm thinking about using zookeeper to do some general dynamic load balance task. That is, we want to store some load info on the znodes, and another task scheduler read the load balance from znodes, and make the schedule plan for future work. I want to design a relatively general framework for this kind of task. Does anyone have any suggention about it? thx~ On Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 1:38 AM, Patrick Hunt <[email protected]> wrote: > > On 04/14/2010 10:09 AM, Mekaraj, Prashant wrote: > >> We did test this and it seems to work fine, but ymmv depending on the >> load balancer product I suppose. >> > > Yes, that's def true.
