Yes. It would be really nice ot have the build of zookeeper move to maven.
There is already an open jira for it and someone already did some work on it:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-83

It wasnt included then since maven wasnt one of the priorities, but
would be great to see zookeeper move ot maven.
