Michi Mutsuzaki commented on ZOOKEEPER-1708:
--------------------------------------------
Hi Johan,
Could you provide a patch for this? I think the package should depend on the
virtual package java6-runtime instead of a specific jre.
Also, please note that we are deprecating deb/rpm package support in 3.5 in
favor of bigtop.

> Wrong version of java in control file for deb packages
> ------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: ZOOKEEPER-1708
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-1708
> Project: ZooKeeper
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 3.4.5
> Reporter: Johan Hillertz
> Priority: Minor
>
> After building the deb package it is not installable because of missing
> dependencies in the control file.
> Path:
> src/packages/deb/zookeeper.control/control
> If I remember correctly the package 'sun-java6-jre' is no longer provided by
> Ubuntu.
> If it is possible to run zookeeper in openjdk the correct string in the
> control file should be:
> "Depends: openjdk-6-jre"
> Or
> "Depends: openjdk-7-jre"
