I like the idea of using BAK files to track changes over time, it sounds good
for debugging. As for the file updates, it is doable to update files
atomically. It is a bit of work, but doable.
bq. The static config file could specify just the prefix, and not the full file
name
and in this case we get the latest dynamic file?
