In think following points to be analysed to figure out the root cause,
# When faulted server B joins the quorum after recovery, why still it has the
extra node /e1, why not synchronized with the current leader.
# Why only C version updated, why not the other information like ephemeral
owner etc.
Submitting a test patch ZOOKEEPER-2355-01.patch for reproducing the scenario.
