@cnauroth and @fpj, this patch applies cleanly for both branch-3.5 and
master. I also re-generated the docs to see if the year interval was omitted.
PS: unfortunately, it doesn't apply to branch-3.4 due to many new features
and changes, so let me know if you want a variation of this PR targeting
branch-3.4 (still unsure how to do this).
