We've been testing with openjdk for quite some time, those are supported. The docs are ambiguous in that regard: https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.4.13/zookeeperAdmin.html#sc_requiredSoftware however I don't see why Oracle and OpenJDK wouldn't be supported. EOD it's up to the community.
