It is risky, ideally someone would be able to take a build based off this PR and test run it on a real cluster. Otherwise, we would be shipping a version of the code that has never been tested in real life (at FB we have 3.6 + netty4 + some internal patches, this is what we've been running on our clusters). When do we aim to release 3.5.5 / how much time do I have to review this?
