I didn't work on the project 2 years ago, so not sure about what could have happened. In that time, as far as I'm concerned, patches were only accepted by Jira attachments. Perhaps the community was reluctant to review patches, maybe committers were too busy to focus on the project. I dunno, but sorry about that anyway. However ZooKeeper community is still appreciate your (and everybody's) contribution and has become surprisingly vibrant again in the last couple of months. I encourage you to give it another try, but at the same time I understand your emotions and leaving us is completely understandable. Currently I'm working on cleaning up old PRs which haven't been addressed for more than half a year, but that shouldn't stop anybody from rebasing it and asking for another round of review.
