Hello,
Thanks for your answer. We actually tried to migrate our data from a NON-UTF-8 file
system (under Red Hat 9) to an UTF-8 file system (under Red Hat Enterprise 3). There’s
no display problems when in guest mode, our problems only happen when we use
the ActiveX editor. I think it’s a compatibility problem between the
editor and UTF-8 file system.

problem
The Big texts and the files are not stored in the database but in the file
system. Perhaps an error occured when migrating your files (automatic
conversion when zipping the file or any other tricky operation - e.g. migrating
from a win to a linux server)... Else Jahia should be able to read non-UTF-8
char in UTF-8 mode (... but is the opposite true?)...
Else try to take a look at this thread:

Hello,
I think our problem comes from the fact we transferred data from a non UTF-8
server to an UTF-8 server. Everything works fine except the bigText fields and
some uploaded files in WEBDAV (files with or characters in their
names…)
Is there a way to switch back our second Jahia server to non UFT-8?
Thanks
Laurent

Hello,
Which version of Jahia are you using? Have you activated Tidy? Could you
reproduce the problem on the online demo?

Hello,
Thanks for your answer but the problem happens when I try to edit some text. If
I input “My text” in edit mode, (not
My text
!)
and publish it, when I go back to the editor, it will display
<P&gt My text </P&gt , not “My
text”. I never tried to put HTML code in the editor when in edit mode.

Hello,
If you want to input HTML in the ActiveX editor switch in HTML mode (or use the
simple text editor). Else your tags will be considered as text and not as HTML
tags and will be automatically translated in <P&gt My text
</P&gt in order to be displayed on the page.
Cheers

Hello,
I am having a problem with the Active X editor. When editing an
existing big text field content, the editor (in edit mode) displays the HTML
code. For example, with
My text
, instead of displaying
“ My text ”, it displays the HTML translation, which is
"<P&gt My text </P&gt"
Has anyone encountered this problem before?
Thanks
