Hi Clment,
Indeed the import functionality isn't yet available in Jahia, but I know of customers that have managed through custom code to do some rather powerful import systems. Unfortunately I don't have their code so all I can give you is some pointers as to where to start :
You will have to implement code that will input the content into Jahia Containers, and this requires some knowledge of the content API. You can have a look at the following code.
org.jahia.taglibs.form.FormContentMapperHandlerTag : inputs content coming from a POST into a container list
org.jahia.layout.PortletsJahiaContentSerializer : declares and inserts containers based on event listeners
org.jahia.engines : the actual code used in the popups, but complicated for a newcomer.
Regards, Serge Huber.

Hi,
My question regards content migration from an existing platform into jahia. Is there a 'best' strategy and/or tool to migrate such content (for our case: pdf, docs, xls, and lots of HTML pages) into Jahia? I understand the import functionality is not ready yet (btw, any update on this?). For now, my experience is that this is mostly a manual task, with people required to manually enter existing content into Jahia (cut and paste...). Any thought? Thanx a lot.
