Filter in Select_Page Engine

Hello!

We are using Jahia 4.0.4 and developed an Ebusiness portal. Mainly we have three types of pages: providers, categories and services. We have boxes, where we want to allow building a list of links to either providers, categories or services. Now the select_page engine for the operation "linkJahiaPage" always lists ALL Jahia pages, but we would like to display either providers, categories or services.

1.) Providers are all in the same container list. The pages in the next levels (e.g. categories) should not be shown.
2.) Categories are under provider pages and they are cascaded in trees. In the flat view we would like to display the categories only, in the tree view we would like to display also the providers, but without the radiobutton (or disabled), so it can't be selected. The service pages under the categories should not be shown.
3.) Services are under the category pages. In the flat view we would like to display only the service pages. In the tree view, we would like to display also the providers and categories, but without the radiobutton (or disabled), so it can't be selected.

Is it possible to solve this requirement with the current select_page engine? Could we make it with just a few changes or do you recommend to write an own engine? Can we distinguish between the page types by container name, or don't we have access to that information in the select_page engine?

Maybe somebody had similar requirements already.
