Hi everybody! When you view a Jahia page, the engine checks the current users rights and shows certain menuitems when he/she is for instance allowed to write on that page. Is it possible to retrieve a list of all users and/or groups which have write or administration rights on that page?
This would allow the end-user to see who's the contact person for a certain page. We currently have the problem that the site grows and grows and people aren't able to see who has created, edited and approved the page if he/she want's to give feedback or ask something about the information at the page. I know that authors could just leave their tag to solve this "identity" problem. But if it's possible with a automatism it's even better :) The idea is to change the template(s) to show who has write and publish rights for that site and if possible information about the site creator and last author of that page. Another inconvenience for large sites is in my opinion that currently theres no way for a administrator to see what really happens when he gives a user certain group memberships. There should be some type of sitemap (like the one in normal user view) which shows what pages are visible/writable/publishable when a user ha a certain group membership. So there are two query directions: page to groups/users - who has view/write/publish rights - who has created / last edited the page (no need for container level granularity) group/users to page - what is this user able to see/edit/publish with his profile - what is this group able to see/edit/publish Apart from the created by, last modified by part, everything seems to be already in Jahia but is just used in another way or part of the program. (Like the sitemap in users view, but not in the admin menu). It looks like it would be perfectly sufficient to just have a sitemap renderer which is called with either a group id or a user id. Can you give me some tips or code snippets or at least a direction to where we could get started to get this data? Like how to get a sitemap for a certain user (API calls). Or how to retrieve the list you use when a content administrator views the page properties and clicks the "rights" tab. I would also be very interested to see how this problem has been solved by other Jahia users... Or whether they even see this as a problem with large sites, too. Best Regards Daniel Zimmermann
