Hi

I am implementing a site and I
need to import a lot of files. Im using webdav,
I was wondering if anyone has any dev routines for uploading and creates the links and not do save and add new all the time.

If you need to map the DAV file manager to a web view perhaps the easiest solution would be to use the WebDAV File Mngr portlet ( http://www.jahia.org/jahia/webdav/site/jahia_org/shared/portlets/WebDAVFileManager/webdavfilemanager-ear-1.0.ear ) on your pages. Warning: this webapp is still in beta. Certain operations in edit mode are still quite buggy...

Else, if you want to automatically create a page for each new directory or a new container for each new file, we developed a small prototype for one of our prospect (available here: http://cvspub.jahia.org/nightly-build/2005-03/jahia450_build7026_ged.exe ). Warning: this is based on a very early dev. release of the future Jahia 4.5. Things are still not working (e.g. Metadata). Others have not been implemented in this proto yet: delete of files and directories which needs to trigger a delete of pages or of containers; move of directories or files; etc...

Finally a more easy solution would be simply to develop a JSP template which would only allow you to navigate in the content of your DAV store (quite the same as in the Jahia DAV engine but code backported in a template).

So it really depends what you plan to do with your pages at the end....

I would like to know if jahia is the appropriate software for a knowledge management site, so if it easy to create a good KM site.

It really depends what you call a "good KM site"? What is your definition of it?
