Hello,

The problem is that the permissions are not directly on the file system but in the Jahia database. So you need to login in Jahia first and not simply login to the file system. But you may perfectly make some tests in your template and if the file has some more restricted permission than the current user, lauch the jahia login pop-up or redirect him to a custom login page.

Stéphane

I purposely restricted rights on the specified file. I would like to put a protected file on a public page, like I did before with IIS.
See http://jahia.rpn.ch/page1098.html
The 3 first protected files are still saved under Windows filesystem (IIS). When I click on one of them, I can enter my username/password to be able to open it.
The latter is also protected, but under Jahia file directory, hence the Tomcat error message.

Do you better understand my question ? Is this feasible under Jahia ?

Please grant the adequate rights for the guest user on your Jahia file directory. Note that the File Repository permissions are not directly mapped to the Jahia rights (a file can for example be used on several different pages with different rights). So you have different permissions on your file folders and files than on your Jahia pages. Normally a warning should tell you when you add a file or an image with insufficient right to a page that the file is too restrictive for certain users or groups and will lead to a 403. You can browse your file repository in anonymous mode: http://jahia.rpn.ch/webdav/site/rpn/shared to see what an anonymous users can see....

Cheers,
Stéphane

Hi,

When I put a link on a page to a protected WebDAV File, and a non authenticated user click on it, he receives a Tomcat error

(see http://jahia.rpn.ch/webdav/site/rpn/shared/EEP/salamandre/33/musaraigne.mp3 ).
How is it possible to avoid this problem ?
