Hi,

"The page cannot be displayed", this display error occurs when the indexing time exceeds the http session expiration delay which is about 1 hour. But the indexing process is not finished and still running in background. Please wait for it to finish.

Subject: R: Lucene Search: indexisation problem

Hi Michel,

Saturday morning (20-05)  have clean the search_index directory and run the re-index process again, but the system had a strange behaviour:

"The page cannot be displayed

 1) The site lock was released after about 1 hour, but the process now (22/05) seem still active, in the jahia.log I see messages like this:

22:05:2006 05:39:58.264 INFO  [TP-Processor47] - Use previous extracted pdf tmp file /var/JAHIA/jahia4.0.7/jahia/jahia/WEB-INF/var/search_indexes/jahia_tmpfile__shared_navigation_File1.txt

2) The administration page where I run the index process display this error:

The page cannot be displayed

And this is the url:

http://www.manfrotto.com/administration/?do=search&sub=doindex&go=ok&matrix=2514

Our WebDav folder is about 500 MB with more that 24.000 files, several files are pdf, but most of them are NOT linked with the jahia pages.

In some case we link the pdf files to external web site, so the pdf are not stored in the webdav folder, this can be a problem for indexing process?

N.B. One month ago, the first index process that we run after upgrade Jahia 4.0.4 to Jahia 4.0.7 take about 30 minutes.

Thanks,

Federico.

Hi Federico,

depending on the amount of files that are present on your site, Lucene may need quite some time to perform a full re-indexation, especially when indexing PDF files. Unfortunately with Jahia 4.0.x the server is unavailable  during the full reindexation.
With Jahia 4.1 indexing performance was greatly improved, and is also performed in background as to not interfere with the access to the site for the users. So upgrading to Jahia 4.1 would help in your situation

If you want to re.index the site with your current version of Jahia, you should indeed remove the content of the search_indexes folder, re-launch the indexing (preferably during a week-end for instance) and wait until indexation is done.

Michel

Hi all,
I am trying to solve a  indexisation problem of the Lucene Serach engine in my Jahia Sites.
Two day ago I discover that Lucene doesn’t work,  so I have run the site indexisation but after 10 hour the process was still active, so I have shutdown and restart my system.

Now I have try to delete all files and folder under ../WEB-INF/var/search_indexes and run again the re-index process.

This is my environment:
Operative system:        RedHat Linux Enterprise AS3
Jahia                            4.0.7
SDK                           1.4.2_11
DB                              MySql  4.0.21

Somebody have Idea how I can solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Federico.
