As from May 25 (once GNOME 3.0.2 stable has been released), new tarballs on ftp.gnome.org will be uploaded as: - .tar.xz - .tar.bz2
Meaning: no more .tar.gz for *new* uploads. As from Nov 16 (or whenever the last GNOME 3.2.x stable is released), new tarballs on ftp.gnome.org will be uploaded in .tar.xz only. There won't be any re-compression effort, nor will any files be deleted. Meaning: if some file is currently available in e.g. tar.gz it will still be available. The change only concerns *new* tarball uploads. -- Regards, Olav -- devel-announce-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/devel-announce-list
