I just want to go on the record as saying that I think this is Absolutely The Right Thing To Do, and you guys rock. There are three main reasons I think this should be part of the source proper:
1. A ton of people asked for it early on. 2. The logger component of Adium (which the plugin needs to figure out log sizes) isn't a public-facing thing; a plugin that relies on private APIs always made me feel a little uncomfortable. 3. I ran into some indications that it's not possible to add a "configure sorting…" menu option for a plugin, though that could just be because I'm a n00b. Anyhow, I'm glad you're working on this. Please don't hesitate to drop me a line if you need anything, though I suspect you have it all under control.
