Since all the developers on the list seems to favor 10.6+, I think this is an easy answer, as they are the ones who has to do all the work.
Also, it might also be considered that the 10.5 to 10.6 transition was a bit different than normal, since it didn't appeal to many end users, due to lack of eye candy. Given then 10.7 is covered in eye candy, I would expect a lot of the users that skipped 10.6 to come back on the leading edge. And, if Adium is important for an end user, the price for the 10.6 upgrade isn't really that high. -David Munch
