Humm... I am not sure if we understood each other ;-) I am talking about MT
keepalive and I guess you are talking about MO keepalive, don't you ? I have
2 different connections by user (one for MO and one for MT) and each of them
can be closed by firewall when idle for serveral minutes.
Furthermore, my UCP51 connection is closed by the SMSC after 5 minutes of
inactivity. After that, Kannel tries to reopen a new connection and need to
authenticate by UCP60. I assumed it is better to maintain the UCP51
connections opened with keepalive, isn't it ?
So, I renew my question : is UCP31 is the best solution for MT keepalive and
why ? I will not be billed for UCP30 or UCP01 since my SMSC operator asked
me to use them for MT keepalive. Would it be interesting to have the choice
between those types of paquets in configuration ?
Furthermore, I have the possibility to work in bidirectional mode (UCP51-MT
and UCP52-MO on the same TCP/IP connection) or in monodirectionnal (one
TCP/IP connection for MT and one for MO). What is the mode that you would
suggest and why ?
Finally, I would like to know if Kannel has a timeout for idle connections
on receive-port and if it is intended to limit numder of connections on it ?
Those are 2 interesting features on the SMSC side.
Thanks in advance for your help. Gildas.
