this is not supposed to work and will never work. The protocols on 
the mobile network are not peer to peer but client / server based. 
This means a phone can never play the role of a real smsc or in other 
words there's always an SMSC in the middle.

Our connections support that while sending the message directly to 
the SMSC. I dont think any one supports it on a GSM phone level.
