Hi,

I know everybody running Kannel here in Finland is forced to do EMI
tunneling with Sonera's ContentGateway. The EMI tunneling works fine,
but I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in co-developing direct
support in Kannel for the Sonera CGW API. The CGW API is not so complex,
and can be interfaced in many ways, for example through a C++ API and an
text-based API.

Why would I like to do this? The EMI tunnel works..

Yes, the EMI connection works nicely, but Sonera seems to be developing
the CGW software, and incorporates new functions to it all the time.
Direct support for the functions (mainly thinking about location
information, special billing properties, etc.) would be gained. Any
interest in a project like this?

BTW, is there a Kannel roadmap somewhere? How active is the Kannel
community after WapIt's bankrupcy? I'm getting offers for commercial SMS
gw software every now and then, and they start to seem more and more
tempting. Kannel works really well, but if it starts to lag behind
feature-wise, I'll have to change it to something else sooner or later.

Thanks,
