Hi Andreas and List,
we still have problems with at2 and tc35 modem. Andreas, how at2 handles
modem timeouts (see following message).

I got this mail from Siemens wireless support team, could it somehow
cause the problem.
---
If you have set AT+CSMS=1 then each incoming SMS must be acknowledged
manually by the user by sending AT+CNMA to the module inbetween 1second
after receiving the SMS. If the user did not send AT+CNMA or he has sent it
too late then the module will send a negative acknowledge to the SC.
In addition, the module will automatically change the parameters <mt> and
<ds> of AT+CNMI to 0.
As the SC received a neg. acknowledge from the module, it starts to resend
the SMS after a delay. As the module changed <mt> and <ds> to 0 the new
incoming SMS will automatically be stored on the SIM card.
Now if you set AT+CSMS=1 the it is possible to set parameter <mt> to 2 and
all incoming SMS will be routed to TE but must be acknowledged manually.
There is no way on TC35 to route incoming SMS to TE with automatic
acknowledgement.
In addition,TC35 does not support to set the first parameter <mode> of
AT+CNMI to 2. With this setting the M20 is able to store incoming SMS or
incoming SMS indicators(+CMT , +CMTI,+CBMI,+CDSI and +CDS) in a buffer if
the TE is used for a data connection. If the data connection was terminated
then the M20 flushes out all messages that were arrived inbetween.
This is not supported on TC35 as TC35 does not have a buffer for that.
