at least for the european Nokia 7110 and 6120 I can confirm that it works using the DLR-3 data cable on both Linux and Cygwin systems. As long as the data cable supports the american 7160 and it operates with 19200 baud speed it should be working. You may test it previously using minicom attached to a Linux box, maybe.
