Yea, one could do that.. ok - I'll get a swap_nibbles() helper for the next patch I submit :-) The whole swapped nibble stuff is part of the PDU format - AFAIK all mobile terminals who use PDU to transfer messages send and recieve PDU using this obnoxios GSM standard. I have no idea what prompted them to define such an anoying format - it's a mess to support all those wierd coding schemes on a PC (the PDU defines 4 different methods of encoding data in the same message), so I cannot believe it's easy to implement on handsets.
