Yes, the incoming binary messages I was looking at where having the 
UDH being split off and sent as XSer packet. However if the flag 
would be missing, it would come as part of the message.

ok unless you have a buggy 6210 software (my test was from 6210 too 
actually), your XSer should contain UDH. Maybe you need a more recent 
software on the SMSC?

Well I havnt tried that but I would expect to see a UDH header 
indicating concatenation (which has to be turned on on the T68)

I cant do that right now but I'm 100% sure that I've seen incoming 
pictures with UDH in XSer because that's how I analyzed the UDH stuff 
at the time. It was also containing some DCS value.
