I had to make the following change in configure.in

diff -r1.6 -r1.7
71,74c71,72
< AC_CHECK_LIB(pthread, pthread_exit)
< if test -z "$pthread"; then
< AC_CHECK_LIB(c_r, pthread_exit, [LIBS="$LIBS -lc_r"])
< fi
---
> AC_CHECK_LIB(pthread, pthread_exit,[],
> [AC_CHECK_LIB(c_r, pthread_exit, [LIBS="$LIBS -lc_r"])])

to successfully compile on HP-UX 11.0. The unpatched version of
configure.in linked both libc_r and pthreads into the executable
which caused an immediate crash somewhere in the pthreads library
on start-up. Also, the "if test -z..." line makes no sense to me
given that the AC_CHECK_LIB macro supports conditional actions.
Is this correct ?
