I've been doing some tests with CMG's MMSC with PAP/XML for a while now.
If you need any help developing an MM7 interface in Kannel, just send me an e-mail.

I agree to both, in some sence. MMSC implementation *will* come. Consider this as aimed. And we'll also need then MM7 as MMSC-to-MMSC protocoll for MMS roaming.
I thought MM4 was used for MMSC interconnect ? Sorry to quote standards
again :-), but section 6.1, figure 3 of 23.140 shows this.
yep, but beware. The 3GPP documents basically do recommend things. They do not very deaply specify.
This is certainly true of the earlier versions, but the current version
is detailed enough for an MM7 implementation.
Our own MMSC (written in Java) has MM7 implementation via
HTTP/SOAP/XML. But we face the problem that some operators in Germany
run CMG's MMSC, which uses PAP/XML as used in a PPG for the MMS (as
multi-parted content) injection.
Ugh, but interesting. Do you have a reference to a CMG document describing
this interface ?
Thanks,
Paul.
