I guess yes. I'm no lawyer too, but I'd like to go this way. WapIT assets have been managed by finish lawyers that tried to sell things. Since WapIT does no longer exist and the finish lawyers don't have a chance to commercialice the software, I'm sure we can "change" the lincense for the time *after* WapIT. Which means the license is keept the same up to the point where WapIT was existing and we are transfering the intelectual properties of the code to the Kannel Group because we are the one who contributed code after bankcrupcy of WapIT. So IMO this is a valid option. > b) whats the reason for change (please explain for non lawyers etc...) Simple. WapIT is no longer existing. So other companies (I know from one case in Finnland, not to be named; mabe even in Switzerland ;) hay pick up the software and sell it as there commercial asset. Which is not ok, IMO. So the Kannel Group is the intelectual property holder and therefore should be stated in the license. This will enfore other companies that like our open BSD-style license and use Kannel in commercial products to obey the license rules.
