Hi All,

I have successfully compile Kannel (latest CVS) under the current latest
Cygwin (1.5.5-1). I did not run all the test but setting up fakesmsc
works without any problems. The problem arises when I try to connect to
a real SMSC.

(Please bear with my non-technical explanation)

If I make one connection to a smsc using the smpp protocol everything
seems to work "fine". Kannel's CPU usage is virtually non-existent and
messages are received and delivered correctly.

Adding a second smpp connection causes CPU usage to jump to 54-55% (on a
duel P3) and stay there - bearerbox being the culprit. Now trying to
query the status of Kannel via a browser (lynx, IE, etc) fails 99.9% of
the time - I managed to get a status result once which indicated that
everything was ok. However regardless of this messages seem to work for
both connections.

Adding any more smpp connections causes CPU usage to jump to 100%, again
bearerbox being the culprit. Any queries to Kannel fail and no messages
are sent or received.

I have compiled Kannel with all debug options enabled and no errors are
reported, not even warnings. The best probable cause I could come up
with was that Cygwin went under a major change (see
http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin-announce/2003-07/msg00003.html). Changes to
the way threading works amongst other things.

Is anybody able to help solve this problem? We are highly dependant on
Kannel (running in a cygwin environment at present).
