AFAIK a long time ago I sent similar "request", so I'm happy to hear that
I'm not alone now ;))

Actually, I think that such a feature would make Kannel monitor (internal
"status" cgi scripts and php frontend) more effective if the status
numbers weren't cleared after restarting Kannel. However, we should
probably talk here about a "graceful" restart, which re-reads the file and
does the job appropriately.
