In the (good) old BBS days, i had experience with the Digiboards, and 
they never failed me. Not the easiest piece of hardware to install and 
setup (at least back then), but definitely worth it.

Use PCI multiport serial card. Ask in any PC hardware shop for it.
In this case 4-port card would be fine, even 16-port cards exist.
Examples include Digiboard, Cyclades, Moxa etc.
I am using some old ISA Moxa multiport which I got for free.
