HTTP Server Configuration

We will be installing Kannel either on Linux or Windows with cygwin. If I run it in Linux, does my HTTP server needs to run also in Linux? Or if it’s in Windows (through cygwin), the HTTP server needs to run also cygwin? Mtech.com, Inc.
