I am doing my Masters in IIT Madras, India. I am planning to do some
useful work on wap as my project. Since i am new i am not able to find a good
problem to work on.
Initially i went through ieee papers and decided to fix the securtiy
problem present in wap 1.2 stack i.e the encrypted data stays decrypted (in
volatile memory) for a few seconds on the wap gateway which will pose a
serious security threat to users wanting end-to-end security in their
transactions. But while procuring additional data for it i found out that oma
has already addressed this problem in wap 2.0 by directly supporting wirless
profiled tcp,http and tls. This has put my project planning in a disarry. In
this regard i request help from you:
Can anybody tell me
1)if there is a wap 2.0 stack available for download for educational purposes.
2) Are there any problems present in wap 2.0 which need to be addressed.
3) Does Kannel support wap 2.0
4) Is there any simulator for wap 2.0 stack.
5) I am basically planning to work at the protocol level but i have to finish
my project within 6 months. So i will be very thankful if anyone can mention a
feasible project idea.
