hmm, IMO, Kannel tries to connect to the remote server via aquiring "local" client port 0 for the socket connection.

??? This is strange.

Can you try to do a HTTP client connection via the test/ dir HTTP client like 
this:

  $ cd gateway/test
  $ ./test_http http://www.kannel.org/

in order to see if it would dump the same ERROR. If yes, then it's most likely that there is some strange behaviour with the kernel TCP/IP socket stack.
