As a side note:
Kannel (to be exact gwlib) on MacOS X does not seem to run into the
2GB barrier as it does on Linux.

log files can typically happen,

after a bit of reading it appears as if you need to do some things

just wondering if anyone did such with kannel, and what the

You can recompile Kannel with;
./configure ... --with-cflags="... -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64"
This should allow larger log files. Why it is not default I don't
know ;)
what about implications to off64_t etc?
