Similarly to what happened to Giulio Harding with MO messages, I'm having
trouble when sending too many messages. Kannel seems to choke opening too
many HTTP connections to the SMSC. It is very random, and even though I've
tried adjusting the throughput down, to avoid the problem, it doesn't help.
I'm doing tests sending 10000 messages to a service I setup, the service is
only a text reply back to the mobile that sent the message. While servicing
these requests, anywhere between 500 to the full 10000, kannel starts
throwing these errors:

2006-10-02 11:11:25 [28684] [17] ERROR: Couldn't create new socket.
2006-10-02 11:11:25 [28684] [17] ERROR: System error 24: Too many open files
2006-10-02 11:11:25 [28684] [17] ERROR: error connecting to server
`164.77.252.209' at port `80'
2006-10-02 11:11:25 [28684] [17] ERROR: Couldn't send request to
<http://164.77.252.209/vasppcs/PMP_recibeCGI?movil=56984489236&user=3011&idmsg=d6jo3b98qhbbjzldu46vdtj2&msg=Servicio+de+prueba&cobrar=1>

The problem is that after just one of these errors, kannel slows down
considerably to sending about mayb 1 or 2 messages/sec, apparently unable to
reuse connections. After this, the only way to bring kannel back to its
normal speed it's to restart it. I'm using version cvs-20060904.

I would appreciate any help I can get since I need this to work as soon as
possible. Thanks!

Nicolas Brenner.
