you miss the point that if you do gsm_to_latin1 then this is not utf-8
anymore. Latin1 != UTF-8
Not exactly, i use charset_gsm_to_utf8.
Please see the latest patch i send to the ML
This allow then, to make or not, the convertion into any charset
without this patch we are losing all accentuated chars and more.
