try to compile with --enable-ssl with this hack.
This will not be in CVS because it's more a hack than a real fix of this
issue

Do we need to use --disable-ssl?
and should the PANIC issues be resolved:
PANIC: Trying to fetch variable `ssl-client-certkey-file' in group `core',
not allowed.
PANIC: Trying to fetch variable `bearerbox-host' in group `wapbox', not
allowed.
