Is WTLS implemented in the latest Kannel CVS or does one need to use this
patch? We have compiled Kannel with SSL.

Hi,

the WTLS stack is "partly" implemented in Kannel itself. The fine people at ANAM, Ireland started this some years ago. Unfortunatly they never finished it. So it's not usable.

The kwtls is a "proxy" to stub the WTLS stack in front of bearerbox's WDP/UDP socket. Obviously you "loose" the orignating IP (client IP) in this proxy mode. Also the kwtls works, but not reliable and stable.

Goal should have been to get someone experienced with cryto (ie. deep openssl and opentls mandling) to finish it via addopting working concepts of kwtls. But noone commited for this major task. I admit, it's not trivial.
