You can run as many SMS boxes and WAP boxes as you want on different machines sharing the load of one bearerbox's traffic.
That's ok.

none. You would run multiple bearerboxes on different machines connecting to the same smsc for example. every one would handle the same keywords in parallel.

Is it possible to connect two bearerbox installed in two different machines to the same smsc with the same account ? for fault tolerance.

Depends a bit on the SMSC but basically yes.
in terms of MO processing this is no problem. Incoming SMS can be handled by either bearerbox/smsbox bundle as long as the configs are the same. in terms of MT processing, there should be two different accounts as the SMSC might return a delivery report to the wrong machine otherwise. By using a different account, you make sure the delivery report gets to the same machine who submitted it.
..or you can have shared dlr storage (as in a database) and work around that. but basically, if you want HA and load balancing, you'll want shared dlr storage anyhow.
