Hi,

Yeap. Configure has no problem finding Mysql. It just doesn't like the version.
Could be that your mysql build is not multithreaded. Please download a new
Mysql build, or compile from sources making sure that you have thread support.

Subject: Error compiling Kannel with MySQL on Mac

  Hi,

I am having trouble compiling Kannel 1.4.3 with MySQL on a Mac box. The error
is

  #######################################################
  Configuring DB support ...
checking whether to compile with MySQL support... searching
  checking for mysql_config... /Applications/MAMP/Library//bin/mysql_config
  checking mysql version... 5.0.19
  checking mysql reentrant libs... -L/Applications/MAMP/Library//lib/mysql
-lmysqlclient_r -lz -lm
checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient_r... no
  checking mysql libs... -L/Applications/MAMP/Library//lib/mysql -lmysqlclient
-lz -lm
checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no
configure: error: Unable to find MySQL client libraries
  #######################################################

  N.B.
  1. System is Mac OS X, 10.5.6
  2. Kannel works fine when complied without MySQL support.
  3. I have MAMP running with MySQL working fine and the path has been
specified while compiling too.

  TIA
