Not really, using different PDU's doesn't mean having to change Msg at all.

If there's different PDU's to handle submit, deliver, etc. it can be abstracted 
on the same Msg structure and it can be done with a special SMSC (or extending 
smsc_smpp as Alex suggested) and there's no need to touch anything else.
