However, it does not drop to a shell if something goes wrong with the USB boot. These are good point, I'll make the changes right now. On a slightly different subject - is it OK with everybody if the shell is on serial? The ongoing intent is that we try to avoid internationalization issues during boot. I figure if we have this pretty UI and then drop to a english based shell, it would be confusing. At least if the shell is on serial, then it would require a bit more knowledge to response to the situation while at the same time not limiting people who really want to hack. perhaps we can come up with some icons that would indicate that the boot failed and that the shell has been started - serving as a signal that the user should connect to the serial port, while at the same time providing some feedback other then a blank screen and no kernel boot.
