No. I can defend against this trivially with a counter, but I don't
think it's a concern. What would a useful BIOS exploit even be?

No; I mentioned in the e-mail that the design accommodates this use
case, but it would require the kids that are interested in hacking their
BIOS to contact us first. I think this is fully acceptable.
