Yes. udev and hotplug is my suspect and so far I cannot find out the
problem.
I don't know where fedora/slackware think where firmware should be. I will
try to find it out.
Fedora requires firmware in /lib/firmware. The Marvell firmware should
be renamed to:
/lib/firmware/usb8388.bin
Yes. I put it there both in fedora and slackware.
s/o just said, it was because of USB problem.
