Could trac just send out the same notifications that bugzilla sends?
Including full history in every mail? Comments, attachments, assignments,
status changes should all send out a mail with the current update at the
top, followed by the full chronological history. That would clear up lots
of confusion.
Tangentially, being able to change the description with no sort of history
of what was there before seems dangerous, history can be lost.
