Mark,
yes sure, I meant the plug. I'm a software guy, non-native speaker,
and while I usually can make myself clear for software things I seem
to have problems with even basic hardware terminology ;-)
Anyway, I just wanted to get the idea out. Thanks!

Hi, Bert!
I assume you mean a mic plug, instead of a mic jack? Otherwise, are
you asking how kids could add a second audio input port? That would
be a serious bit of work, indeed! ;-)
If you do mean mic plugs, the 3.5mm male plug is probably the
world's second easiest connector to find - the first is the IEC AC
plug. Unfortunately, there actually isn't room in the battery pack
compartment to store this, either way. My apologies!

Apologies for this being a bit off topic here - but AFAIK there is
no open mailing list for design discussion, right?
Anyway, while thinking about sensor input I was wondering how I
could connect a simple sensor to the laptop. I would need a 3.5 mm
mic jack plus wires. Now wires are much easier to find than the
right jack. What would be really cool is if there was a spare 3.5
mm jack included, like in the battery compartment - I'm sure there
is a little bit of space somewhere.
Yes I'm ignoring all cost issues etc., feel free to educate me -
but it would encourage tinkering, IMHO :)
Cheers!
